No D Day – All Your Treats Are Belong To Us

(Thanks to our sponsor, George, for No D Day!) Our Taiwanese soup* street dog, Huck, still acts like he’s starving on the streets. Like most dogs, he begs shamelessly, and one soft-hearted friend is a favorite target.

She thought she’d catch him in the act, and snapped this picture – no Photoshopping. This is what Huck’s doing in those split seconds that are too short to register with the naked eye.

These are the treats you’re looking for…

Our friend does seem strangely compelled to give him treats whenever she comes over…

* About being a soup doggy dog (as Erik’s sister dubbed him): I picked up Huck as a pup, when I was living in Taiwan. He caught me at an extemely weak moment by looking pathetically cute. Students warned me that winter – soup season – was coming, and that as a yellow dog, Huck was grade B eating (i.e. not bad). Huck immigrated back to the States with me in 2000, despite having no legitimate visa, very limited English, and no useful skills aside from scaring away the mailman at the same time every day. And trying to hypnotize friends.
